Plain-language summary: Badger Ledger is designed so that financial records created in the Windows application stay on the user’s computer. Prime Fundamentals LLC does not receive or review the user’s transactions, balances, budgets, debt records, family plans, or business books through the normal operation of the software.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Prime Fundamentals LLC (“Prime Fundamentals,†“we,†“us,†or “ourâ€) handles information associated with Badger Ledger, including the badgerledger.com website, purchases, license administration, device activation, support, and the Badger Ledger Windows application.
2. Information stored only in the software
Badger Ledger is an offline-first desktop application. Financial information entered into the application is intended to remain in the local encrypted database and local backups controlled by the user. This may include account names, balances, transactions, budgets, debt information, goals, family planning information, customer or vendor records, invoices, bills, products, services, projects, notes, and reports.
We do not automatically upload, synchronize, inspect, sell, or use this local financial information. We cannot recover local records that a user loses unless the user has created and retained a usable backup or recovery kit. Users are responsible for protecting their computer, passwords, local files, backup media, and recovery materials.
3. Information processed by the website and licensing service
Although the financial ledger remains local, our website and licensing service may process limited information needed to sell, activate, secure, and support the product, including:
- purchase or account email address;
- license edition, license status, update eligibility, and device allowance;
- license key records stored as a cryptographic hash and, during secure purchase fulfillment, an encrypted delivery copy;
- hashed device fingerprint, device name, application version, activation time, and last-seen time;
- Stripe customer, subscription, price, checkout, and payment-status identifiers;
- the Terms version, automatic-renewal consent, and acceptance timestamp submitted with checkout;
- support communications and information voluntarily provided by the user;
- security logs such as IP address, request time, requested path, and firewall or rate-limit events.
We use this information to provide licenses, enforce device limits, deliver updates, operate billing, prevent abuse, respond to support requests, maintain records, and protect the service.
4. Payments
Payments are processed through Stripe-hosted checkout. Prime Fundamentals LLC does not receive full payment-card numbers through Badger Ledger. Stripe may process payment information under its own privacy terms and legal obligations. We receive transaction status and related billing identifiers needed to administer the purchase and subscription.
5. Cookies and local browser storage
The public website does not require advertising cookies. The administrator dashboard uses a secure, HTTP-only session cookie for authenticated access. The website may use essential browser storage to support security, checkout, or interface behavior. We do not use Badger Ledger financial records for targeted advertising.
6. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the limited online information we process. These include encrypted connections, restricted administrator access, signed sessions, request rate limits, security headers, application-layer firewall controls, hashed license keys, hashed device fingerprints, and database access controls. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, and users must also secure their devices and accounts.
7. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell personal information. We may share limited information with service providers that help operate the website, licensing, hosting, payments, email, support, security, or legal compliance. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate fraud or abuse, or as part of a merger, sale, financing, or transfer of the business, subject to applicable obligations.
8. Retention
We retain licensing, billing, security, and support information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including customer service, fraud prevention, tax and accounting records, dispute resolution, contract enforcement, and legal compliance. Local financial records remain under the user’s control and are not subject to our online retention schedule.
9. Choices and privacy rights
Depending on location, users may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of certain personal information. Some records may need to be retained for legal, security, billing, or fraud-prevention reasons. Requests must be verifiable and may be limited by applicable law.
10. Children
Badger Ledger is intended for use by adults. Family features may allow an adult user to create local planning records concerning dependents, but those records remain in the adult user’s local software. The website and purchasing service are not directed to children under 13.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. The effective date will be updated when material revisions are posted. Continued use after an update is governed by the revised Policy to the extent permitted by law.
12. Contact
Privacy questions or requests may be submitted through the official support contact published on badgerledger.com. Please do not send financial records, full payment-card information, passwords, recovery keys, or unredacted sensitive documents unless specifically required through a secure support process.
